I made this game during the Berlin Mini Game Jam March 2013.

It's based on a quote from Neil Gaiman. It tells the story of a platonic romantic relationship. You can see the heart of your friend beating. But everything you say hurts. Your friend has a crush on you, yet you don't share the same feelings. However, you can't find the way to comfort your friend without harming him or her.

A different way to play the game, is by putting yourself in the role of the friend who is in love. From that point of view, it's easier to understand why some words hurt so much.

People I have shown the game to have asked me to what extend is it autobiographical. The truth is that I have been in both sides of this relationship in the past, in different occasions. Being able to talk about it through a game has some cathartic effect on me. However, I left any personal details out, so that players might be able to relate to their own experiences.

I hope you enjoy it.
